Karika 71: Received and condensed by Ishvarakrishna

And this essential doctrine, received through the unbroken lineage of disciples, was thoroughly understood by Acharya (teacher) Ishvarakrishna through his subtle and discerning intellect. He then presented it concisely [as the Sankhya Karika] in the Āryā metre.
