Karika 56: Prakriti creates for the soul's liberation

Thus, this [creation]—from the Intellect, etc. to the gross elements—is undertaken by prakriti for the purpose of the liberation of each soul (purush). It seems as if [prakriti has] brought about [this creation] for its own purpose, [but in reality] it is for the sake of another (purush).
