Karika 2: Scriptural remedies fail too; knowledge is better

Just like the worldly solutions, the solutions described in the Vedas (ānuśravika) are also riddled with impurity, temporariness and inequality. In contrast, the discriminative knowledge gained from understanding the Manifest (effects of prakriti), the Unmanifest (prakriti – causal or primordial nature), and the soul is superior [for eliminating sorrows].
