Karika 11: What the two share, and how the soul differs
The words
Translation
Intellect (mahat) and other manifest objects, as well as the unmanifest primordial nature (prakriti), are composed of the three attributes (gunas); non-discriminative; objects of knowledge or experience; common [property of all souls]; inert; and undergoing continual change. In contrast to these, the soul (purush or pumān) possesses the opposite characteristics.
