Karika 15: Five reasons the Unmanifest exists

Since the various effects, such as the Intellect (mahat), are limited, are homogeneous, originate through the power of their cause, separate out from that cause, and merge back into one [undivided] cause, [the unmanifest primordial nature must necessarily be the root cause] of all diverse forms.
